As the COVID-19 spread continues to evolve further and make the situation challenging, EqualizeRCM offers means to improving cash collections and reducing overall costs.

In the wake of the national emergency for the COVID-19 outbreak, all elective care was placed on hold. Further, restrictions related to social distancing, uncertainty regarding closures or fear of potentially interacting with infected individuals led to additional cancellations of patient appointments or patient no-shows. All of these led most health systems and physician networks to adverse financial crisis.

As the COVID-19 spread continues to develop further, many hospitals and health systems projected adverse financial impacts totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. With all of us battling the COVID-19 situation, we at EqualizeRCM are working to identify how we can best support and help you in these challenging and evolving times. Recently our experts: Matt Thompson, Executive Vice President, EqualizeRCM, Randy Penberg, Managing Partner and CEO, Management Resource Group, LLC, and Chris Meola, Vice President RCM, EqualizeRCM, had organized an interactive conversation on managing costs and boosting cash collections. This video blog (vlog) is a representation of the topics and strategies discussed, such as managing revenue cycle operating cost, adjusting staff to address the changing patient volume, and ideas for recovering revenue such as telehealth and CMS’ advance payment, etc.
